Aspects also stay the same in regards to tropical vs sidereal. But there's still plenty of things that stay the same regardless of house placement- sign/degree, aspects. So I tend to prefer Placidus when reading charts. In Placidus, her moon is in the 12th, and in whole sign it's in the 1st. What gets me is charts like my sister's- she has a Cap moon and Cap rising. But I also take the others into consideration- I have a 6H sun, so having a stellium in there isn't expanding on what isn't already there- and having a 7H for my chart ruler can also make sense because my Mercury is conjunct my DC regardless. I like my 5H stellium, my chart ruler (Mercury) being in the 6H. In whole sign, my chart is: 6H sun/moon, 7H Mercury/Venus, 3H Mars, 8H Jupiter/Saturn, 6H Uranus/Neptune, 4H Pluto/Chiron. In Placidus, my chart is: 6H sun, 5H moon, 6H Mercury, 7H Venus, 3H Mars, 7H Jupiter, 8H Saturn, 5H Uranus/Neptune, 4H Pluto, 3H Chiron. My ASC is not a high degree (it's 11) but even then my chart changes drastically. I'm just comparing Whole Sign to my Placidus placements and Placidus has proven to be more accurate in practice. She's pushed me into learning more about this placement in my chart, but she's brought up a lot of childhood emotional baggage in the process. More importantly, I know Mars in Aries is in 4th house rather than 6th, because my younger sister's behavior is why I know more about how Mars plays out in both my personality and my life as a whole. My adopted younger sister is related to the themes that have come into play and those themes relate back to 3rd house, not 4th. The issues that started during my Saturn Return will continue when Saturn transitions into Pisces, but my family as a whole isn't a problem. My Saturn Return would be a bit different if you put Saturn in 4th house.

Under Placidus, I have Mars in 4th house. The bigger issue is the traditional ruler of my Ascendant would be a more drastic change under Whole Sign than Pluto. It might be difficult to see the problem since it's a generational planet and some people argue generational planets don't rule signs. However, regardless of someone's opinion on this debate, the ruler of my 3rd house remains the same.

I, personally, use both the modern and traditional rulers for the signs. I'm a Taurus Sun and Taurus is on the cusp of both my 6th and 7th houses. The Sun doesn't rule any house in my chart, but that doesn't exactly matter. The signs that fall here are Aquarius and Leo. Maybe someone else with my birth information would relate more to Whole Sign or even prefer their Sidereal chart. I believe there are multiple house systems for a reason though. I've had a lot of time to study my chart and how my placements manifest in practice so I don't believe any other house system produces the kind of results that Placidus does with me. In my experience, Placidus is most accurate for me.

My Ascendant is in Scorpio at 25 degrees.
